Metal working has been pretty slow lately due to uni holidays and, with it, unavailability of the uni studios and generally being flat broke. Instead, I've been making up some little alternate/mixed media jewellery pieces and watercolour illustrations. For the jewellery pieces, I've been using mainly wooden disks, watercolour paints, acrylic paints and handmade and prefabricated findings to make up some little earring and pendant sets, as shown at right. Yes, they aren't as sparkly and metallic as I would much prefer to be working with, but I think they're kind of cute and they're good little projects to be working on while reading or watching stuff or surfing the net. I've worked on a few other shapes as well, hearts and such, they're going to be getting posted for sale in my MadeIt store. I go back to uni on Monday, and not a moment too soon. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some more metal/oil painted works soon. Holidays are awesome until you start getting bored out of your mind. |
